On November 19, we enjoyed a socially distanced event with Kerri Arsenault, author of Mill Town. Kerri had a wonderful childhood growing up in Mexico, Maine where her parents, relatives, and several generations before them, were employed by the local paper mill. As an adult, Kerri learned that the financial security that came from that work came with a cost to the health of the people and the environment. Mill Town is part memoir, part investigative journalism. It explores the impact of big business and life of the middle class. Here is a video of our conversation.

What a wonderful intro to your store I had on Saturday, meeting Jason, chatting about how you started the store, & admiring the local books in the back room. I also adore your children's books (I just finished my first). As a Valley-based poet (published in 13 countries, in 9 languages) I felt I'd found a literary home in my home area. Thank you for fulfilling your dream, which fulfills one of mine, to have a bookstore in the St. John Valley. I will surely bring my own first published book to your store, & start a great relationship there.
